If I were on the School Board, I’d have voted to stay in HB 581 and am upset with the CCSD Board’s choice to opt out, which goes against what most voters want.
I’m not sure if you’re located in Cherokee County, Georgia or not, but I would look at your property tax assessment notice, and read the information on the appeal process. Some of them are heavy on the paper side while others can be submitted electronically.
Yes I live in Freehome. Three years ago I appealed and they knocked only $1,000 off the assesment. The three people didn't decide that, the man from the county said some one upstairs decided that. I didn't think about until later. Wouldn't that be illegal?
So this year I want someone who knows what they are doing.
I like and respect most of the members of the current board; however, this was a bad decision and am interested to see how this affects the next election cycle.

Oh man….messing with the revenue. They don’t care what constituents want when their paychecks could be affected.
